Russian actor Mikhail Porechenkov, well-known for some as FSB agent Alexej Nikolajev (“National Security Agent”, 1999–2005) will play Russian investigator Maxim Kazantsev.
Western media reporting on the issue such as UK’s Guardian evidently missed Porechenkov’s excursion to the Donetsk airport with a criminal gang in 2014 where he took a machine-gun and shot at Ukrainian positions. The Interior Minister of Ukraine then stated the Criminal Code of Ukraine forsaw an imprisonment of seven to twelve years for his actions. The Security Service of Ukraine and the Interior Ministry opened criminal proceedings against him for participating in illegal armed groups and terrorist activities.
Additionally, the whole story is another provocation in regard to the Baltic states:
Porechenkov has been blacklisted in Latvia.
The Estonian detective will be Lithuanian actor Ingeborga Dapkunaitė (who recently played the Russian ambassador in the Norwegian “Occupied” ). Is she aware with whom she will play there?
The plot will be demonstratively situated on the Narva Bridge between Estonia and Russia.
