Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty reports that the (parody) Nobel Prize for Peace has been awarded to the Belarusian President for making it illegal to applaud in public and to the Belarusian State Police for arresting a one-armed man for applauding. “In July 2011, a court in Belarus fined a one-armed man for taking part in the unsanctioned protests in Minsk. The man was found guilty by the court of clapping in a public place.”
The 2011 peace prize winner was the mayor of Vilnius, Lithuania. He demonstrated that the problem of illegally parked luxury cars can be solved by running them over with a Soviet-designed BTR-60 armored personnel carrier.
